Currently at Utah, it's super hot right now ><

Yesterday I ran into something interesting. Well, it's nothing new. Art theft. I usually don't care much about it because it's usually some 8yr old kids who really wish they could draw, good for them. I know I drew the picture, fellow artists knows that by looking at the style, that's what matters.

But this one guy at Deviant Art not only claims that he drew an image done by me, he goes ahead and accuse me of stealing his artwork. Someone reported the image to me, I reported him, his image is gone. Either he deleted it or Deviant Art staff did. But then he goes ahead and comment on mine. After looking at his collection of artworks, it's obviously that most of them were stolen/not by him/direct copies. I want to get this guy owned and learn a valuable lesson >_>

Some of these look REALLY familiar. But I can't put my hands on it, they look like older works I've seen a long time ago. Many of them looks like DF's older style.

So! For those who are really good at spotting stolen artwork, please take a quick look and see if there are any work you've seen elsewhere before! http://galladoorn.deviantart.com/gallery/

*runs*
I promise I'll have more interesting stuff to talk about next time x.x

--Edit---
Also, random but...
A while back my mom agreed to take two budgies from a friend of hers, who got those birds from some one else. My mom didn't have enough time to clean up after the birds, so she gave them to me.
One of them is a yellow budgie and the other one is sky blue. I named them Butterball and Dobedo.I noticed one eye on Dobedo is a little bit weird and flies in circles, but I thought he just got beat up by Buterball >< or something wrong with his wings. But some time during AN I noticed the one eye was swollen up >< so I took him to the vet a few days after. Apparently Dobedo has some sort of brain tumor TOT;;; and they don't tell me what may have caused it. The vet suggested hospitalizing him, but the bill was..... $1,080.... for three days TOT;;;; and there's no guarantee that he will live TTTTT My budget for the vet was like $400 at most TOT so all I could do was get him a shot.
Poor Dobedo died yesterday TT I'll miss him !
Random food adventure

I had this Otakon report in progress, but it's going slowwwwly. >_>! I'm going to skip to this random food adventure from today. Thanh is visiting me in Canada for the next little while, and I tried to show him around places. With our recent food adventures in NY, we wanted try for more good food. I remembered seeing all these ads for Ruth's Chris at airports and all over the place, and on their ad, it shows this huge piece of meat. There is a Ruth's Chris near our place close by Square One, so we made a reservation and walked there. We looked at their menu online before we left, and saw the $98.95 Porterhouse For Two. It was pricy, but we wanted to see how close their steak quality would be compared to Peter Luger's. Well, all I can say is the atmosphere there is great, the place seemed very classy and nice. Service is very very nice too. But the steak was.... meh! It was pretty good, but not much compared to Luger's, not to mention the portion it came in... for the price tag. The meat had way too much fat for a steak of that price, but other than that, it was alright. Their potato were good though, and the appetizer. We ordered their Seared Ahi Tuna as appetizer, and it was sort of like eating sashimi. Overall, we didn't think it was worth the $160 for that -O-; Personally, I think the service and atmosphere would be worth it, if I went there for that.

When the bill came, it came with this little feedback/comments form we could fill out. We decided to be stupid and fill it out. It went pretty much like:

Favourite thing you liked about us: "service"
least you liked about us: "fat in steak"
what can we do to improve: "More like Peter Luger's"

>_>!! We then tipped like 10% before tax, and ran. Thanh decided to grab two handfuls of mint for some reason >_>! Afterwards, I stopped by Tim Horton's for the good old Ice cap.

So yeah, that place is great for fancy dinners and parties, but not if you're looking for just the food alone! O_O!

On a side note, this Open Table thing is very handy! :D Only if it was more commonly used by restaurants.

*runs*

Semi-rant >O<
So... what's a nicer way of telling people: "It's none of your business" when they ask questions that I feel they don't need to know at all.
Generally, I'm pretty open with things, I don't mind sharing information about me, especially to those who I feel are close me. Sometimes I would even go on sharing really dumb and random things without being asked. However, for those who I don't feel partiality close to, or just feel that the information has no need to go out, I rather keep it to myself. Normally when I ask people things, and they do not wish to share it with me, my first reaction would be "oh, I guess I'm not trusted/close enough", and feel somewhat disappointed, but try to leave it at that and respect it. But when it comes to some people who asks me questions, it seems like they just want to know, and not because they care or anything, just because they must know and to fill their own curiosity. I can understand it when friends really do care and just want to know what's up with __fill in the blank__, and if I chose not to share it, they just leave it at that. But at times, there are these same few people who just KEEPS ON ASKING. At times like this, I wish I knew a nicer way to say "It's none of your business". Actually, I think I did say that a few times, and of course, the people still don't get it. -_-

Anyone in Ontario looking to get a cellphone? :X

Recently I'm thinking of getting a new cellphone and just switching providers. But I'm still stuck with Bell for another year in the very first agreement, or was it the second one renewed, something stupid like that >_>! *shakes fist* Bell have gay cell phones, so not going to get a new one from them and get stuck with them for longer ! The one I have my eye on is this *___* The crappy thing is, I paid like $400 for the current cell phone when I first got it, and if I cancel my service now, I need to pay like $190 more. >_>;;;;;;

When I called Bell, I found out that I apparently can also sign the cellphone over to someone else, and have them take care of the phone for the rest of the agreement. So yeah? Free cellphone >_>! just need to pay the monthly thingy, which is $35 CND + junk & tax, for 11 months.

This is the cellphone I currently have >_>! It haven't broke down or anything yet, not beat up or anything, I don't have weird stalkers on my number... hmm. yeah!

If I can't find anyone who wants it, I'm thinking of just cancelling it and pay the $190 <.< then attempt to eBay the phone somehow.

Otakon & NY trip report, part 1!

I didn't really plan to write an Otakon report, but I'm on the bus and bored as hell. So I decided to just pull out my laptop and try to write a report with people's preying eyes. The original plan was to just sleep through the entire ride, but once the sky got dark it's just too nice to be sleeping. I'm also sitting beside some big dude who's hogging all the seat space and my seat doesn't have an arm rest, all because Ying and I got to the bus station a bit later than the suggested time ><;
This year's Otakon was especially fun, it seems like a lot of things had happened but at the same time not as tiring. It might be because I decided not to take any commissions this year. Here goes!

Wednesday night

After work I got dropped off at the bus station and met up with Ying. We waited there for about an hour until the bus arrived. Then from there we headed off to New York. On the way there at the border, we were delayed by... who knows what. Ying and I got through the customs fine and pretty quickly, but for some reason we ended up waiting on the bus for a really really long time.
Then I started to pull out the laptop out of boredom. We found this random unlabeled CD in the disc drive, and poked at it. It was a copy if the movie God Send, probably something my brother had downloaded and burned on CD and forgot to take out. We started to watch that, it was pretty interesting, EXCEPT right at a really exciting part of the plot the computer runs out of battery and dies. T_T
So we were back to stuck being bored. I then proceed to pull out my MP3 player, but that too soon ran out of battery. Noooooo.

Thursday

We finally got to New York. We found out that Ying has the worse suitcase ever, it's one of those with the wheels, except it's on the side and doesn't balance well. It would tip over every two minutes. It also doesn't like stairs very well, and there were many many flights of stairs in the New York subway.
After a while we finally found our way to Lore and Dorm's temporary hobo place. It wasn't too hard to find. When we got there, Lore was out picking up Shaz at the time, and no one was home. But after some poking around and calls, I managed to obtain a key to their room :D
That's when disaster struck!
Upon entering the bathroom, MY PHONE FELL INTO THE TOILET. How? I'm not too sure how except that the space between the toilet and the wall was too close. Luckily, the toilet was clean @_@ but my poor phone still drowned... T_T Without my phone I had a hard time checking the time and stuff x.x;;
Not too long later, Lore arrived along with Shaz, Annie, and Gwee. The six of us went to a nearby Chinese/Japanese restaurant and ate lunch there :3 It was also when we witnessed Shaz swallow a giant blob of WASABI. YEP. Ask him!.

It was like:
Shaz: I wonder if I can eat this thing.
Gwee, me: duuu it!
Lore, Annie: o_O
*Shaz swallows the blob of wasabi*
Rest of us: @_@!!!!

Uh... yeah <.<

After the meal, we headed back to the hotel, did some packing and headed off to the train station. We met up with Dorm there, and found our way to our train. We happened to entered a "quiet car" and couldn't make much noise, I just decided to sleep on the train >.> and it was a lot more comfy compared to the bus.
We got to Baltimore pretty quick, and the train station was only 20 minutes or so from the convention centre. The eight of us split a cab and got to our hotel.
Upon entering our THREE ROOM SUITE we all googed at the amount of space we have, and the cool "living room" with nice couches and tables. I jumped right in and claimed a nice desk XD dumping all my computer stuff on it.
We then proceed to get our pre-reg badges at the convention centre. On the way there we noticed Kitsy waving to us at on the skywalk as we're passing by below it. I think Kon, Laine, and Juno were all there at the time.
When we finally go to the convention centre, the first thing we saw was the huge lineup. But Gwee, Dorm and I managed to get in without having to line up, mwehehe >.>! We wanted to get industry badges this year, but we were told that the time for industry badges were over for the night. So we just picked up our normal badges and walked back to the hotel.
Back in the hotel we started plotting for dinner, except we never did get past that. People just started coming to join us @_@ and nothing could be decided. A whole bunch of us ended up just chatting in the rooms >.> The good thing was that we had three rooms, two for the early sleepers, and one for the party people XD
I was waiting (in)patiently for dinner plans, because I was so hungry >< Lore didn't seem like she wants to move from the room any time soon, so Dorm and I pondered about ordering food. Time dragged by and still no food plans! >< It was 11 pm and most places were closed. I called the hotel information people and asked for restaurants that are open and do deliveries and got two. One was Dominos and the other one was some random name which we had no idea what they serve >.>
Dorm called Dominos and ordered some pizza. We were told it would be there around one or one and half hour, but IT NEVER CAME. It was close to 2am and still no food. I decided to chew on some ice like I always do at hotels when there's no food, you should try it!!! It's good! After a while Laine and Gwee joined me in the great ice feast, and agreed that it was tasty. Gwee even did a nice commercial for it! I think it was on Laine's camera XD
Seeing that people are chewing on ice as substitute to food, Jen pulled out snacks she brought from home. Canadian snacks! FOOD!! They were yummy! I think we finished one of the package in less than a minute. Kon: Mmmm, this is good! *grabs some more*
Seeing how late it was, we thought it was strange our pizza still hasn't arrived, so Dorm made another call to them. And guess what? Apparently we never made the order -_- we got screwed over big time. Shaking our fists at Dominos, we decided to try the other random named place. Surprisingly they serve pizza, and we ordered some. Thirty minutes later, our food finally arrived!!!!!! It was delivered by this sleepy looking guy who looks like he either just woke up or haven't slept all day o_O
The pizzas were actually really good! We finished every last piece of it XD Sometime around 3am, we decided it was time for bed. Before we did that though, we got news of our industry badges! Juno managed to get a bunch of us Udon people industry badges, and one for Dorm too! XD
The night was finally over for most of us around 3:30am when everyone went to their respective rooms @_@

Hmmmmmm, I think that's it for now. More later! >.>
